Hi folks,
I seem to be having a team issue with pirates!
None of my hosts are reporting that I am a member of BOINC synergy. But from my account, I am still a member.
This is only happening with Pirates and was ok yesterday...
any ideas?

Other than that Pirates all work together and not in separate groups? No... I seem to have the same thing showing after my latest scheduler contact.

yarr we all work together but I still fly my own ship's Ensign with pride! ;)
and still no team listed in the manager.
I did try to verify my Email address this morning just before i noticed the problem. I dont imagine that should have anything to do with this, bit something broke it between last night and now!!

Yeah, same with me, missing team.
But there are some other problems as well.
The complete host page on the status page is blank.
No hosts at all.
The this computer button in my manager leads to a page "could't find computer" with all my crunchers and the results pages don't function.
But from my account page i can list my computers and than display their individual results.
Different problem is my linux x64 box does only produce computing errors. (Never had any problem with it, does augustines 5.8.15 doesn't like pirates?)

I'm not sure why the team isn't being reported, but here's a possibility.
I have not updated the server software in a relatively long time, so nothing has changed there.
But while we were idle I did clean out the database, flushing out old Workunits and Results that had long since been assimilated, or which had failed in the early days of the project. So it's possible that the server won't report team membership to the client unless the team actually has a finished WU in the database. That seems to be the case for the top hosts web page, which only has a few listed now, but will likely fill out as results are validated.
It's also possible that the server behaved strangely in the special case when there were no finished Workunits or Results in the database at all, a situation which resolved itself on its own over night. We'll have to watch for that the next time we are at anchor for a long time.

My team is back in the manager in my Linux host and now my Windows XP host.
I saw the team reappear on my Windows host immediately upon reporting its first result.

My managers do also not show my team on the Pirates project line.
What I do find interesting: my Your computers page states that the last contact of that host happened on 19 Sep 2007 21:42:06 UTC, but [edited]:
- files statistics_pirates.spy-hill.net.xml, sched_reply_pirates.spy-hill.net.xml and sched_request_pirates.spy-hill.net.xml are dated around 20 Sep 2007 08:23-08:24 UTC (server replied "Reason: no work from project" at the time and few times prior to it),
- file master_pirates.spy-hill.net.xml 20 Sep 2007 03:30 UTC (scheduler list was fetched), and
- file account_pirates.spy-hill.net.xml 20 Sep 2007 01:16 UTC (server replied "01:16:57 [Pirates@Home] New host venue: " - is this the reason for the problems?????).
All much more recent than the time claimed by the server.
[one more edit]All my scheduler requests prior to 20 Sep 2007 01:16 UTC were failing.[/edit]
It looks like the Capt'n cooked some meal for the machines, let's see at the evening, if they will again claim their association with their teams after having some eat. (Maybe it's only a strike after being hungry for a long time? ,-)

Add me to the list also, Weird as it not only shows I don't have a team, It also shows my Resource Share at 100 percent ? Even though here in my profile everything is as normal (With Team/5 Percent). I tried an update to server
from my client, and let it reset from its countdown, but nothing changed. I noticed also when I first came to the website, That my icon and name didnt appear in the top right side as normal, Although when I selected profile to
log in, It then showed it and I never did have to log in afterall.
Also getting the following message in the client :

Although its all on once line starting with Message from server, Instead of using a wrapper as above.

Yes, here too, and even more, in addition to wiped team and reser resource share, the machine's credits, reported by the manager, are zero, user's credits are valid.

My hosts (Windows and Linux) have been squawking with the scheduler for over 12 hours now, yet the last contact that it says my computers had, in my list of computers was 7th of August and 4th of August respectively.
I feel jinxed. (Again).

I have an idea what might be causing this. But first, it would help when reporting to state what version of the client you are using. Are these all stable releases, or the latest alpha?
After we collect that information I'll try something and see if that changes what's happening. Yet again we get to press BOINC to the edge of the envelope....

YAY! Err, ARRRR! I was just going to bed, bug grabbed that one after reading your note and suspended all but this one. No, it was a bit scary .-) first, but not extraordinary fluent even on fairly recent HW. I think it's purely the SW problem.
According to the still missing team and host credits in (BoincView) Manager, it is Win Boinc 5.10.20. No idea about Linux Boinc 5.10.8, I've lost some proper connection to it.

Using Windows 5.10.13 and 5.10.20 team disappears only from Projects tab after 1st contact to pirate server.
I haven't seen it ever return after it disappears.
Message tab often states blank host venue but host retains proper venue on the web.

Maybe related... I had seperate prefs setup for different venues using pirates as the last modified.
Around the time Adding separate project prefs problem was reported I noticed the prefs revert to default and not venue specific.
Setting prefs from BOINC alpha restored venues. I've tried setting venue prefs here a few times since with no joy.

So here is the explanation. Before releasing this last round of work I was perusing the documentation for project options, which is kept in the config.xml file, and I found the nowork_skip tag. This says that if a client connects to the scheduler but there is no work, then the scheduler should not even bother connecting to the database to get any info. This is presumably to help a heavily loaded project. I decided we should try this out.
So what happens is, the client connects to the server, but gets back a very terse (perhaps even more or less empty) reply, and from that the client concludes that you don't belong to a team, and it also doesn't update any of your other stats. Your last time of contact is not updated in the database because the database never got contacted.
I can understand that most stats won't get updated, but the loss of the team is indeed confusing. This probably deserves a Trac ticket as a bug. [edit]I just posted it[/edit] If you are in a team, but the RPC response doesn't mention a team, then don't make any changes. It's possible that the current RPC response has a blank team entry (rather than none at all).
I'm sure that's easily fixed by those who know how to do it. I'll bet they can apply the same principle to other items in the RPC response, though it might also require some changes in how the client processes the response. I will leave that to the RPC experts.

But it still has not. Some pages still list no entry at all, some break up somewhere in the middle. Only the first one became ok in the meantime. Seems the missing entries sometimes spoil others following on the same page?
But wouldn't the page be very much better, if there was a search function?
A good purpose for this page could be to check on ones own crunchers effectiveness. But who is not listed on the first 1 to 3 pages would never find his hosts.
Such a search function could as well help with the participants page.
