As pirates are teached to steal things, the same as elsewhere in the BOINC world happened here too. Team Alienware was pirated on 29 Dec 2007 and after all existing members (apparently just the founder Heffed remained) walked plank, the team was promptly renamed to "Sace Family" and joined the quickly rising family of kidnapped teams. Currently the only member and "founder" of team ID=71, who takes care of Team Alienware's pirated gold, is Barbar. Please thank him for his piratery, sharks, bear with him, and give the Heffed's former teammates' treasure back to Heffed. ____________ Peter .-)

According to: o team_id.gz from 05-Jul-2006 09:10 - "Team AlienWare" (71)'s founder was PoorBoy (746), Heffed was just a member, o team_id.gz from 13-Aug-2007 22:45 - "Team AlienWare" (71)'s founder and the only member was Heffed. Exploring the consequences of how the BOINC code works is one of the things we do here, including the dark side. So yes, I suppose here (if not on other projects) it is acceptable. Though I would have liked to have then heard about it here, instead of learning about it from other projects. I've been thinking that the fact that dormant teams can be hijacked might be a good thing for BOINC. The whole point of teams, forums, and all the other features is to encourage participation. If everybody in a team is no longer participating or paying attention, then the team can be hijacked this way. Barbar has never acquired the teams personally, each time a replacement user did the work for him. So Rusty would bite a replacement leg :-) Thanks for the change, I'll try to notify PoorBoy. All'n'all, if he had tell about in advance, I'd really award Barbar with one BOINC-wide doubloon, as was said, he pointed the community on the existing teams issues. Yes I have taken back over Team AlienWare the once #1 Team of the Pirates Project, I had no clue somebody had Pirated the Team away from Heff whom I bestowed the Team Foundership on as I moved on to other Projects. Also since there are no original Members left on the Team other than me now I have Re-Named the Team to PoorBoyzToyz as I have done at many Projects. I've also re-attached a few Box's to the Project to try & keep in touch with it. My Thanks go out to Eric too who Re-Instated me as the Founder ... PoorBoy

Ahhh Yes, a very Dark Period in my BOINC Past & of course you had to drag it up for some Un-Godly reason. It was the main reason I drifted away from the Pirates Project & will do so again I suspect now that that's been brought to the Forefront again, Thanks, I appreciate that Contact.
