Yello 6.03 is being tested, tell if you see problems.

I do see the problem that the Yello screen stays open (application stays running) well after the task has ended, but that may be a BOINC (6.4.5) bug.

Yes, when I let out work the server was overwhelmed, as if the sharks had all come to feed and someone had dumped in a bucket of chum. So work is being throttled and delays increased, but there will be more. This is an interesting issue to investigate, and there may be more.

This could also be in relation to the decrease of the time span of the "call back time".
Mostly there are very many hosts being delayed up into the middle of a run. Second thing is that this workshift was announced before. So many were aware.
Third thing might be, that there are more and more active pirates around.

But my old Linux machine has spotted some errors with yello (7 failed runs):

yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.4' not found (required by yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu)
yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.6' not found (required by yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu)
(I admit this is pretty old installation, some 2 1/2 years now).

I noticed you expanded the "last request too recent" up to some enourmous heights.
Im not so sure if the lenght was constantly changing or if a request was sometimes let through if it corresponded to the initial delay. After I recognized that there was a change, I tried timelimits of 5, 10 and 20 Minutes and all were to recent.
I assume it was corresponding to the initial deferrence of 1 hour.
In the moment that has changed from 1 hour to 30 Minutes and I am not sure if it is still corresponding to the deference time.

I do understand that the server load was very high yesterday and that that was not to continue. But setting the deference equal or near to the "too recent" time will shift the WUs away from dedicated crunchers sitting in front of their hosts and hitting the update button to those pirates that own huge farms of computers and don't especially pay interest to pirates.

This will derive pirates of a huge part of the observated WUs as well as of most of its flair.
This was a project were intersted pirates with very few hosts could compete with uninterested crunchers with ten times of it; through personal involvement, enthusiasm and observation.

If the new settings will last, the pirates-output of a user will directly correlate to the number of hosts he/she owns. There really wouldn't be any more pirate sense in it.

I would be really sorry for that.

As you guessed, I set min_setwork_interval to over an hour to reduce the server load. After it came under control I set it to half an hour. I've now reduced it to a little over 5 minutes, and we'll try reducing it further.

There will be some tests that reward those who view the graphics and help test interesting things above and beyond just crunching and crunching. Not that there is anything wrong with that either.

With 6.2.19 the graphics window stays open when the task already finished, too.
But it's the same with e.g. World Community Grid, so I don't think it's something to worry about.
