Kalessin wrote: First and worst problem: No yellos any more. Yes, when I let out work the server was overwhelmed, as if the sharks had all come to feed and someone had dumped in a bucket of chum. So work is being throttled and delays increased, but there will be more. This is an interesting issue to investigate, and there may be more. ____________ -- Eric Myers "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." -- William Butler Yeats

This could also be in relation to the decrease of the time span of the "call back time". Mostly there are very many hosts being delayed up into the middle of a run. Second thing is that this workshift was announced before. So many were aware. Third thing might be, that there are more and more active pirates around. ____________ Dragons can fly because they don't fit into pirate ships ![]()

But my old Linux machine has spotted some errors with yello (7 failed runs): yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.4' not found (required by yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu) (I admit this is pretty old installation, some 2 1/2 years now).yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.6' not found (required by yello_6.03_i686-pc-linux-gnu) ____________ Peter .-) ![]()

I noticed you expanded the "last request too recent" up to some enourmous heights.

Kalessin wrote: I noticed you expanded the "last request too recent" up to some enourmous heights. As you guessed, I set min_setwork_interval to over an hour to reduce the server load. After it came under control I set it to half an hour. I've now reduced it to a little over 5 minutes, and we'll try reducing it further. There will be some tests that reward those who view the graphics and help test interesting things above and beyond just crunching and crunching. Not that there is anything wrong with that either. ____________ -- Eric Myers "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." -- William Butler Yeats

Ageless wrote: I do see the problem that the Yello screen stays open (application stays running) well after the task has ended, but that may be a BOINC (6.4.5) bug. With 6.2.19 the graphics window stays open when the task already finished, too. But it's the same with e.g. World Community Grid, so I don't think it's something to worry about.
