No, I just needed some work to test BOINC on my new XO laptop. As I just posted to the developers list, the core client runs fine on the XO.

There will also be work on and off in the next few days to test a new set of server daemons. For both of these we'll keep the old, tested apps.

I just had a couple run successfully under Fedora.

I've got two more queued up. Anything in particular you'd like tested?

Only thing two things of note. The estimated time to completion is pretty high at 00:01:30. They're taking me 15 seconds to run. And the Linux app is SLOW (errr as slow as something can be that runs for a quarter minute). I (Core duo at 1.66) was paired up with a P4 @ 1.8 and took 50% longer (10 seconds vs 15 seconds).

Whether it all works. :-)

I'm using the old apps from previous runs. This run is a test of the server software, not the application libraries. I've upgraded to the server code in the SVN 5.10 branch to see if it works.

I know it's recommended to use the SVN trunk, and we can test that too. But later.

But were is my Christmas Cake, were is my new years eve fireworks??

Cap'n you must be sticking in work, deeply, not to give out the special day gifts!

If that may help I herewith send you a set of virtual dragonwings. They can give you some uplift!

By the way: Happy new Year to all piratefolk!

My G5 (BOINC v5.4.9) and my partner’s iMac (BOINC v5.8.17), both running OS v10.4.x, are doing fine.

P.S. The XML tags in the standard error file are getting stripped out above … but the gist of the message still appears to be there.
