While I undetrstand Pirates isn't a credit feast, no credit at all kind of sucks.

I'm due to grab another position in just 106 days, at the rate it'll never happen. :-(

Your CPU time is also zero. Not zero point oh one two as for most of us. No, just zero. Since credits here are still calculated at benchmark * run-time, with a run-time of zero, your credit is zero.

Looks like a bug in the application though. Everyone's returning zero second tasks. I'll see if I can pull Eric down to our level.

Please look at the other thread:

Yello 6.01

With the test of yello instead of hello the timecounting doesn't work anymore. So everyone has zero seconds and receives only 0,001 credit per WU.

I think I understand the problem.

When I converted this application to the new graphics API I enabled the option "backward_compatible_graphics", so that it would still work with the BOINC 5 clients. (See the table under "Compatibility" in the GraphicsApi page.) When I was looking at the options I also found one called "main_program", and figured I had best set that as well. After all, this was the "main program", not the "graphics program".

Well, it turns out that's not quite right. The "main_program" option is for compound applications -- applications made up of several programs which run together or one after the other. In that case they are launched by the "main" program, which should not be keeping track of its own CPU time, because it is the programs it runs under it which are doing the work.

So we will try turning that option off and see if that gives people proper credit.
