No, it is not that simple. The page is somehow displayed combined with previous and even previous language selection - a mix of English and two other languages. Just the UTF-8 had to be forced, otherwise the translated texts are broken. Checked on both Chrome and IE-9. And, Capt'n, thanks for the new "ship finish and colors"! (Also the large "tooltip" showing further user's properties in a forum thread displays somehow obscured.) |

It was a good and promising announcement! As the ship is now back on water, I've noticed it doesn't swim well. Possibly as my browsers' prefs include Slovak (SK) and Czech (CZ) languages, the page was displayed partially translated to Czech. I've initially found the translated texts broken. The page's encoding was set to "Mid-European (Win-1250)". Forcing the browser to use "UTF-8" corrected the translated tests. After changing the page translation to English, the page was again displayed with the broken Czech translation. Switching directly to Czech had the same effect - the selection got ignored. |

A couple of years ago I've been involved in the Space Family hijack saga and tried to investigate their pirated teams BOINC-wide - some of the major ones have fortunately been returned to their legitimate owners. This situation is a bit different. Noone has stolen anything and we are not allowed to force him walking the plank - which would quickly solve all apparent problems. The hidden remains the ethics (or politics? I'm maybe not good enough in either of them)-. - "Who is more legitimate to keep the team?" The original, but (for currently unknown reasons) bitterish founder, who wishes to take teams in his holdings "into the grave" and seems to have all rights to do so, or the remaining active part of the former team, the majority of is possibly innocent in the breeze among the upper management... |

I've just read through this thread with IE8, unread messages were yellow-flagged since approx. sept-30 or oct-01 message and the thread was definitely marked with yellow version of  . But unaware of the problem in advance, I did not take a screenshot, and unfortunately it was the only unread thread in the forum .-( so hard to confirm now. (I think I'll rapidly trigger some yellow marks by stealing the gold.)BTW, I'm sorry for posting into a locked thread, my depest pirate apology .-P |
