Cool!

good idea.. i reckon for registration and/or profile updates... to do it each time you need to post in a forum would be a bit much i reckon....

cheers,

Paul.

edit - is it possible to get it to use occasionally use misspelled words? just thinking that if a bot could manage to read part of the word, it could make a fair guess as to the rest of it... but if it was mispelled, say letters swapped or extra letters, then it would make things that much harder. From playing with it, it uses alot of dictionary words (ie not just random numbers and letters) so a bot can use the same thing!

edit 2 - i wonder will we see some people suddenly soot up the rankings now!!

Looks good on my little laptop... there is a barley-noticable pause/step but certainly a vast (avast?!) improvement!

Graphics are very jumpy on my laptop.. 1.6G Pentium M, 512M ram, Radeon 9600 mobility integrated card... XP SP2.

It usually displays graphics very smoothly.

In fact, right now I have Einstein@Home graphics open, with the E@H app running (taking abot 100% cPU), Pirates suspended but with graphics open. E@H graphics are nice and smooth.. pirates looks like a slideshow!

and still no team listed in the manager.

I did try to verify my Email address this morning just before i noticed the problem. I dont imagine that should have anything to do with this, bit something broke it between last night and now!!

Hi folks,

I seem to be having a team issue with pirates!

None of my hosts are reporting that I am a member of BOINC synergy. But from my account, I am still a member.

This is only happening with Pirates and was ok yesterday...

any ideas?

cheers,

Paul.

9) Message boards : Pirate Applications : Odd looking times in sterr in one result for 5.14 (Message 6292)
Posted 2194 days ago by Profile [B^S] Paul@home
Well i've upped to 5.10.13. no crashes so far!

I have also found a pattern to whether the graphics window closes or not when you suspend the results... I will try to explain!

If I have 2 pirates results, the first is running and i display the graphics. If I suspend the result, the graphics close. Then the second result starts and I can display the graphics. This new graphics window will then remain open if I suspend / resume the result. Same is true for a 3rd and 4th consecutive results (that is the most number of results I have had at once)

Now the interesting bit..

If I let the first result complete and report, the second result, which would previously allow me to keep the graphics open while suspended, will now start behaving like the first... ie if I suspend the result, the graphics windows closes. The 3rd and 4th graphic windows still remain open when I suspend thier respective results.

I dont know why it would behave like this (lowest slot directory?)... can anyone else replicate?

Cheers,

Paul.

yup.... more funky timings here and here.

And another!
This guy is showing "worker: all done." at 95% and then rolling back to 85% and counting wall time from there...

Paul.
