Starboard screensaver freezes display
(Message 6377)
Posted 2181 days ago by Rob Lilley Contact wrote: Often the 1st advice is to update graphics drivers if possible. Thanks for that - I've checked and there is a graphics driver update available. I've just changed the screensaver for the moment, but I'll have a play later on and see if the driver update does the job. |

Help! :
Starboard screensaver freezes display
(Message 6351)
Posted 2186 days ago by Rob Lilley This WU, amongst others, has caused the display on my machine to lock up after going into powersaving mode. pressing any key brings up a frozen screensaver, but there then seems to be no way to get rid of the screensaver image. Seems to be happening with other projects to (such as Leisen Classical). Maybe it's the BOINC version - or my graphics, as my other machine doesn't have the same problem, though as it's running a diferent set of projects, it's hard to tell... Hello, anyone out there???? |

Starboard screensaver freezes display

Posted 2198 days ago by Rob Lilley This WU, amongst others, has caused the display on my machine to lock up after going into powersaving mode. pressing any key brings up a frozen screensaver, but there then seems to be no way to get rid of the screensaver image. Graphics Adaptor is ATI Radion Express 1150 driving a widescreen laptop display at 1280x800 resolution, 32 bit colour. BOINC version is 5.10.13, and I think the same thing was happening with version 5.10.7. AFAIK, the problem occurs when the screen has gone into powersave mode and BOINC has switched to another project (don't know which one, as I can't get the display back without restarting the machine). I've tried to get the machine to hibernate, but it just beeps at me - obviously a message is coming up, but I don't know what it is without the display, obviously! This looks similar to a problem with a version of Rosetta earlier in the year sorry, can't remember what version, but they have fixed it, |
