JUst joined PAH and received my first WU. Keep getting a number of error messages. Process 7268 not found was first. WU processing was then restarted. A different process not found...up to Process7672 at last look and then a restart. Has anyone had any luck with Intel Macs and Darwin 8.9.1

That's a BOINC problem, as far as I know. You can try 5.8.17 for the Mac, which should have that fixed. ____________ Jord. The BOINC FAQ Service.

Thanks for the info. I upgraded to 5.8.17, but i still get the same series of messages. Each pass running the WU gets me further along, but just get a different process number. Will let it run the rest of the night and if still no completion, I will abort in the morning. Again thanks Taz

Do you use the CPU throttling function? If you do, you may want to try without it. If you don't... um... well, let it run. And since it is a BOINC problem, best take it along to the BOINC forums, to this thread (or start your own). You do need to register separately on the forums there. ____________ Jord. For reference, this is what Charlie had to say about the process not found errors... In my experience, the "file not found" message by itself is rarely a real problem on *NIX systems. The call waitpid (0,...) is used to find processes which have exited. It returns the Process ID of any exited child process in the same process group as the BOINC client. The client then searches its list of active tasks for one with that Process ID. If the Process ID is not found in BOINC's list of currently active tasks, it generates the "process xxxx not found" message, where xxxx is the Process ID. Having said that, the "message timeout" errors are a different matter and may well be worth investigating. I'll leave that to David or Rom.
