The new thing for this run was that the build configuration on Windows was updated to use Microsoft VS C++ Express edition 2010, which is the current version of the free compiler from MS. I also had to add a couple of new source files, which are probably unused (they appear to be for GPU coprocessing) but have to be present in the build. Details are in the Release Notes The changes on Windows worked, but the Mac crew took a beating. I was not able to build a new app version for the Mac, and the old executable for hello 6.10 had been deleted from the server. As a result, those who still had a copy on their client from the last run, so long ago, were able to use it, but any machine that didn't already have it, about 1/3 of the Mac crew, threw an error. Ouch. I have been building for Mac on an older PPC machine, and the reason the build failed is probably that I updated it from MacOS 10.4 to 10.5 and installed a newer version of Xcode on it. With two sets of the developer tools installed it looks like the command line build tool (gcc & make) cannot find the right libraries. I may be able to fix this (knowing how would be good), or I may be able to set up an even older 10.4 machine to build. Meanwhile, I've also been able to build for Intel Mac directly, instead of letting them run the PPC version.
