I've just noticed something odd about the BOINC Online Schedulers (BOS) service, which is what creates the project status list on the front page.

It would appear that you put your own project into the brig. ;)

During 4.-8.12.2006 there was rather long discussion at [boinc_dev] list regarding also this problem (how to best track the availability), maybe worth reading: CGI (scheduler) not properly redirecting browser?.

Thanks for the memories. This is not quite the same thing. I've changed the name of the scheduler (and put the new name on the main page, as I should), but it seems BOS is looking for it under the fixed name "cgi". I did, however, test putting something else in place of "cgi". It sends back an XML response which might produce an interesting result, but BOS does not consider it enough to show Pirates@Home as reachable. So it's not that we're in the brig. It's that we're now a Ghost Ship. ____________ -- Eric Myers "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." -- William Butler Yeats

You should look into extracting them from the new <link> tag which has now been introduced. Otherwise parse the <scheduler> block in the home page. Otherwise fall back to "cgi" as a guess. ____________ -- Eric Myers "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." -- William Butler Yeats

At the moment I change them by hand. That part of BOS is basically still the same code as when I started :D So I extract it from the messages tab in BOINC manager when I attach to a project, or kindly have them supplied by project admins. But the plan is to extract it from link or scheduler tags
