Today I tried to install BOINC 4.25 as a service on my work Machine which has Windows XP Pro SP1. Myself and the three other users have administrative privilages.

When the installer gets to "starting services" I receive "Error 1920 - Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services"

What do I need to do to get this to run on this system?

Go to Services Management snap-in, select BOINC service and at Log On page of BOINC service properties select Local system account. Also you can check Allow service interact with desktop to see any BOINC graphics.

It works for me very well.

You may need to Login as the Administrator too ...
