If you run both LHC and Pirates, be aware that there seems to be a problem with LHC in that it will take over the Pirates project and then REALLY get crazy.

For more info, see the LHC site message boards.

Good luck!

It took over more than Pirates on my machine. It took over all six of the projects I'm attached to. (wiping out over 200 hours worth of work)

To be fair, Pirates boarded my S@H first. ;) Either that or S@H thought Pirates was cooler, so it changed it's name to be more like Pirates.

Even so, I think fault had something to do with LHC instead of Pirates, because after I got the Pirates/S@H charade straightened out, LHC promptly annihilated everything.

Actually for me it was pirates taking over LHC. But it seems people panicking is causing more harm than anything else. I simply did an update and everything got set back to normal with no work lost. From my experience it looks like the only thing that was changed was the project name. the URLs remained untouched.

Update doesn't work if the hijacked project has started downloading stuff to the improper project folder. You need to manually go in and weed this bogus cross project mung from your client_state.xml file.

I'm running 4 different projects and none has ever "contaminated" each other yet. I also run it with network access disabled most of the time unless i need to send work or get work. Lets the client run faster and smoother.

Yes, if you don't have network access enabled, you won't see it. The BOINC devs have determined that BOINC gets confused if two projects are making contact at the same time.

So if LHC opens connections to the LHC server and S@H butts in, S@H now believes it's LHC. They are working on a fix.

I also don't believe disabling network access will have any effect on client speed. BOINC is doing the talking, not the project app. that's doing the work.

This should be fixed with CCv4.13. The times it happened to me before all that was needed was a sucessful connection to the projects that had changed names.
