I am suddenly getting a message of "could not open socket" when trying the turk. I can enter the text items and the initial page loads with no problem, but after entering the error message appears.

Phew...no that would be alot of typing! Actually, I am Turking again since I have more papers to grade and a mid-term to give on Thursday. :)

Another potential problem with the turk. When using IE 8, you don't get credit for your work. The counter doesn't appear in the lower right corner, and the number of turks doesn't increase of the account page. There is no indication that there was a problem submitting the turk, just no credit.

This is the same problem that was noted with IE7. Entering the turk and clicking the submit button will work with credit recorded correctly. Entering the text and simply hitting enter will not record properly and will give no correct/incorrect message nor will it report the total correct and by session in the bottom right corner.

Interestingly, if you first do a turk by clicking the submit button which will give both the correct/incorrect message as well as the stats in the bottom right corner, and then do the turk by just hitting enter, the correct/incorrect message no longer appears, but the correct stats from the previous page (where one clicked the submit button) remains unchanged and present.

Mozilla Firefox does not have this behavior oddity (I have verified this on multiple machines using both browsers).

Interesting...just noticed that this is almost the same time of day that I reported the problem a few days ago.

And now it is back...same behavior of a brief (2-5 minute) problem.

Since I hadn't really had any grog (nor was there any other reason to suggest excessive human error...e.g., not late at night or overly tired, not typing too fast, etc.), it seems that something may have changed in the way the Turk accepts entries. Anyone else seeing this?
