I know there isn't any work at the moment but I thought you might want to know. Getting:

Managed to upload my one result now but I'm getting download failures for the yello.exe file (permanent HTTP error) on my new hosts and also a 24 hour back-off period for all!

I guess it worked. My account task list shows it as complete but I got the following errors.

It seems that the new I7 2nd and 3rd Gen processors are having issues during download. This is the only project that is seeing it.

It seems odd that it's processor specific, but I do not claim to understand the backend processes of BOINC.

Three of my 14 hosts are giving nothing but download errors. They are working fine with other projects. They are all plain-vanilla 3Ghz P4HT, XP32, BOINC 5.10.45, but they happen to be the three most recent machines that I've put BOINC on. They each have an identical partner, running the same OS/BOINC version etc that is working fine. My linux boxes are fine, as is a Vista box.

Very strange.

Also, one machine is giving nothing but computation errors, but that's something to do with it being XP SP1 which I've seen before, so I'll take that machine off.

OK, I have tried almost everything.

It seems it is hosts that have never crunched for the project before and were added after the last back end upgrade that are failing. A cookie of sorts has not been established with these new machines so they fail the download.

Weird - I have "Computer 71906"* that works OK and I think has never seen a Pirates WU until now.
I have 100% errors on an old PC "Computer 72439"** since 20/9/2012, this PC has been attached to the Pirates project for over a year and I'm pretty sure processed my first WU's. Will try the old reset then detach/reattach as it has been - erm - recovered at least twice in the past months.

Update:- can't add any more info as the PAH server isn't making new tasks ergo no new tasks to send & no new tasks to crunch. (Yes, I waited the customary 1 hour before checking back.)
I'm guessing t'Cap'n has already sussed this all anyhoo and will let us crew carry on looking for other bounty 'til next time???

Wait - just landed a couple of WU's on the old Gallatin ... processing, processing,YAY! A simple reset worked, wu_1348367710_12268_1 completed successfully (Ref:- Computer 72439)!!!

FWIW, my 3 machines that were new to the project and couldn't download have all been perfect since the application was fixed. Which is nice.

All I need now is more WUs to see if I can struggle up to 10k credit. I've only been attached to this project for 5 years, so perhaps I just need to hang in there for another year ;)
