Hi,

I have a problem with E@H screensaver.

When E@H graphics window or its screensaver are active, all calculations are stopped (or very-very slow). When I close graphics window then E@H crunches further with normal speed.

I also had this problem earler with PIR@H Sextant apps of different vers.

My config:
OS: WinXP SP1 Pro
Proc: Intel P4-2.6 GHz HT, RAM 1024Mb
Video: ATI RADEON 9600 Series 128Mb Ver: 6.14.10.6404
BOINC: 4.16
Projects: S@H, CPDN, E@H, PIR@H, Predictor@H, LHC@H

PS: I don't know where is the corect place about this bug(?). As I know PIR@H is a project for testing E@H screensavers ;-)

Thanks for reporting this. There is supposed to be a limit on how
much CPU is devoted to the graphics thread, and it sounds like this
may not be working. I may add some tracking of the ratio (on Pirates)
to track this. I'm surprised, given your modern graphics card,
but maybe there is a problem with our application working with your
hardware or graphics library. We should try to track such problems.

Hi,

I have repeated this problem with 4.65 Sextant. Now I have completed 86% of WU and CPU time is 0:16:23.

At first start of graphics all was OK: the sphere rotates and percents increases.

At second and next starts the graphics works but calculations stopped.

But when I changed sextant process priority to 'normal' all again works as should work. I have HT'ed CPU (i.e. 2 logical CPUs) so after that sextant process used approx 100% of CPU time (usually every process uses no more than 50%).

Then I changed priority to 'low' and calculations again stopps. And sextant
process used less than 50% of CPU time (by Task Manager)

I think that graphics thread priority was greater then priority of worker thread after 2nd and more shows of graphics window.
