Hello,
I have joined to Pirates@home today. I wish to change my nick-name from miqa (name of my computer) to michael-u5a1 (the nick-name I use at all the other BOINC-Project. But I can´t "Edit account information" because there isn´t a button to press it. Pls tell me how to change the nick-name, or if you are an Administrator, you can change it instead of me.

You're correct of course.
edit_user_info_form.php is corrupt!

After viewing the source code of the page, the last line ends abruptly with:

<tr><td class='fieldname' width=25%'>Country</td><td valign=top><b><select name=country>

and then nothing after that.

Looks like the Cap'n gotta re-upload this page.
Arrrr.

The problem was in the part of that form that asks you for your country. BOINC has some code which tries to determine the default value based on your IP address. It turns out the version of PHP we are now using also has this feature built in, and it was interfering with the BOINC version.

This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping the crew would look for after our recent upgrade. Thank you for taking the time to report it. Good work. I hope others will look for similar problems.

Until the other day, the server for Pirates@Home has been running Fedora Core 4 (vintage 2005), which worked fine except that we got to the point that I could not build the BOINC software on it anymore. I spent the past week upgrading to Fedora 12, which presented some interesting challenges. I'm still finding things that need to be tweaked or adjusted or added, but for the most part we are back up to speed.

After the OS upgrade I built and installed the latest version of the server_stable branch of the BOINC code, and built the 'hello' app against the libraries built from that branch. So we are now testing that.

We have not upgraded the web code, but that will be coming over the horizon soon. And after testing the server_stable branch we will then try out the newer code in the trunk.

Thanks again for the report.

OK, then another one: The Captain's Cabin seems to have no visible Office Temperature on the upper three graphs - did it sink much below 10°C/50°F? Dare not think about an absolute zero... Let's save the Capt'n!!
